Vilnus F50 Active is a post-milking teat dip formulated with 5,000 ppm active iodine. Post-milking dipping is the most critical single intervention in mastitis prevention: in the minutes after the milking unit is removed, the teat canal remains open and the sphincter muscle has not yet contracted to its resting position, leaving the canal vulnerable to environmental pathogen entry. A post-milking dip applied immediately after unit removal provides the first line of defense during this window.

At 5,000 ppm active iodine, Vilnus F50 Active delivers rapid kill of a broad range of mastitis-relevant bacteria, including Staphylococcus aureus, Streptococcus agalactiae, Escherichia coli, and Klebsiella species.

Film-Forming Protection Between Milkings

Beyond the immediate bactericidal effect, Vilnus F50 Active forms a protective film on the teat end that persists through the inter-milking interval. This film:

• Creates a physical barrier at the teat canal opening as the sphincter closes
• Retains residual iodine activity on the teat skin surface
• Supports teat skin hydration through glycerin and conditioning additives

Film-forming post-milking dips typically provide 3 to 8 hours of protection, matching the inter-milking period for twice-a-day milking herds.
