Active Chemistry and Mode of Action

Anderma Hoof Liquid uses a disinfectant chemistry effective against the bacterial pathogens responsible for foot rot and digital dermatitis. These conditions are caused primarily by anaerobic bacteria (Fusobacterium necrophorum, Dichelobacter nodosus, Treponema species) that colonize macerated or damaged hoof skin, particularly in wet or muddy conditions.

Topical application of the product creates a bactericidal environment at the hoof surface, reducing bacterial load and limiting the progression from early-stage skin maceration to established infection.

Application Methods

Anderma Hoof Liquid is applied through two primary methods:

• Footbath: diluted in a walk-through footbath positioned at the exit of the milking parlor or in high-traffic cow lanes. Cattle pass through routinely, ensuring regular hoof surface treatment without individual animal handling.
• Spray application: directed spray onto the hoof and interdigital space, used during hoof trimming, for individual animal treatment, or in situations where footbath setup is not practical.
